The Haunted Trail celebrated its 14th birthday on Halloween in 2009. It was begun and still is the project of the Compton family of Saucier, and their family and friends. TheTrail is literally a footpath cut through the woods on the Compton's property. About 10 horror movie scenes/ nightmare visions, etc. dot the Trail. Each set is built and manned by groups of families and friends. They put in a lot of hard work, often starting in July.
Every year more than 5,000 people walk the trail- many of them even make it all the way through! We take great pride in the fact that the Trail was voted the Coast's "Best Haunted Happening" by Sun Herald readers in one of their "best of" polls.
